Procedures
- Chemical Peel
- Fillers
- Dermaroller/ dermabrasion
- Botox
- Thread lifts
- Lasers
Chemical peels – Sun exposure, acne, or even age can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted, or scarred. If you want your skin to look smoother and younger, a chemical peel can be considered, which uses a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers. A chemical peel, also called chemexfoliation or derma peeling, is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of the skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin over neck and hands.
Fillers – Fillers, as the name implies, fill in for the concerned deficit by adding volume, and thus correct the deficit. The commonest areas of concern requested to be rectified in our practice are wrinkles in nasolabial folds, flat cheek (following pimple/acne scars and with ageing changes), under-eye hollowing, thin lips and facial asymmetry (one half of face being leaner than the other)
Dermaroller/ Dermabrasion – This process naturally increases the level of collagen and elastin in the skin which is responsible for more strength and elasticity, and it fills up the depth of pits thereby reducing scars. The DERMAROLLER has special medical graded stainless steel needles that perforate the scar tissue easily, whereas the dermabrasion device creates minute abrasions over the skin surface. The scars become softer, less elevated and in most cases give a natural appearance.
Botox Treatments – Botulinum Toxin, often known as Botox is produced from specific bacteria commonly known as Clostridium botulinum. This toxin is made sterile to use for specific therapeutic reasons. It is diluted with normal saline and injected into several areas of the face and neck where muscle weakness or paralysis can bring clinical and aesthetic improvement. This usually lasts for 3-4 months. Weaknesses of muscles are due to interruption in nerve conduction. FDA has approved Botox for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles that often affected the areas on the face between eyebrows. The other areas that can also be treated with Botox are crow’s feet, neckbands, and forehead lines.
Thread Lifts – A thread lift is a commonly practised face lifting technique. Thread lifts are meant to address the sagging underlying of tissues on the cheek and jaw line by threading four to 12 barbed sutures into the skin and deeper soft tissues. The non-absorbable threads stay within the deep tissues and provide support.
Lasers – Laser skin resurfacing, also known as a laser peel, laser vaporization and lasabrasion, can reduce facial wrinkles, scars, and blemishes. It is ideal for the improvement in the appearance of pore size, skin tone, and wrinkles, giving a youthful looking appearance. This procedure uses a laser to send short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin regions, which removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner, one layer at a time.
Skin Cancer Treatments – Cancer of any sort is frightening to most patients, but when it carries with it the possibility of scarring and disfiguration, the patient is apt to be particularly apprehensive and depressed. A cure is the primary goal of treatment for any skin cancer, but the planning should be according to the patient’s desire for emerging with an appearance that is as aesthetically appealing as possible. Early consultation with a plastic surgeon makes good sense and can develop appropriate options for the patient to consider.
Stretch marks removal/ scar revision –This is a common plastic surgery procedure. Certain diseases, injuries, and surgeries can result in prominent scarring. Every surgery leaves some scar and it is often hard to get rid of these prominent scars. But with cosmetic suturing and post-surgery care this appearance can be improved. Every plastic surgeon has their preferences but common scar treatment includes silicone gel, massage treatment, radiation, physical therapy and some topical agents. Even during post-pregnancy, prominent stretch marks can be addressed in a variety of simple manners to give the best possible results.
Hair Removal – Laser hair removal is the process of removing unwanted hair by exposure to pulses of laser light. The pigment in the follicles absorbs the light and this destroys the hair. Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas.
Hyperhidrosis Treatment – Heavy sweating (also known as hyperhidrosis) is a very real and embarrassing problem. However, there are some effective ways to treat it. Botox is FDA-approved for treating excessive sweating of the underarms, and can also be used on the palms and soles. Botox works by preventing the release of a chemical that signals the sweat glands to activate. You may need to have several Botox injections, but the results can last for almost a year. Surgery is only recommended for people with severe hyperhidrosis that hasn’t responded to other treatments.
Vaginal Rejuvenation – FemiLift vaginal rejuvenation is an effective non-surgical treatment for stress, urinary incontinence, vaginal laxity, and postmenopausal vaginal atrophy/dryness. FemiLift causes tightening of the vagina, a decrease in vaginal dryness, and strengthening of the supporting ligaments surrounding the bladder and urethra. This can also benefit both the patient and her partner by enabling increased sexual gratification. FemiLift creates a controlled pattern of micro-wounds, patterned as pixels to stimulate the regeneration of the collagen and elastin. Restoration of these important proteins is the key to restoring a youthful vagina with vibrant and healthy tissue. This helps in overcoming most perimenopausal symptoms.
