Dr. Prathap Chandra is a trained and well-qualified Neonatologist & Paediatrician with over 17+ years of experience. Dr. Prathap Chandra has undergone his training in the UK (at various tertiary units including Neonatal Units in Birmingham, Coventry, Liverpool, Canterbury, and Great Ormond Street Hospital).
Dr. Prathap Chandra has done research for 2 years at Birmingham Women’s Hospital looking at outcomes of various congenital malformations and the outcomes of Gastroschisis, in-utero, and exchange transfusions. Dr. Prathap Chandra has been awarded a CCT in Paediatric and Neonatal Medicine in 2010 and FRCPCH in 2014. He worked as a Neonatal Consultant at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for 3 years before returning to India. Dr. Prathap Chandra is a certified NLS instructor of the Resuscitation Council, UK.
Dr. Prathap Chandra also has extensive experience and takes a special interest in looking after babies born extremely preterm, birth asphyxia, neonatal sepsis, babies with congenital heart diseases, and surgical malformations. Dr. Prathap Chandra is well at providing Therapeutic Hyperthermia (Total Body Cooling) for babies born with moderate to severe Hypoxic Ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE). His expertise also includes Neonatal Transport, fetal medicine counseling, training, simulation, and research.
Dr. Prathap Chandra has embarked upon a campaign to create awareness and prevention of child abuse in India. He has also done a graduate training program in Nutrition in 2016 affiliated with Boston University.
